The 2012 BMW R1200R Classic is a roadster motorcycle that encompasses the features and qualities of a high end motorcycle. The bike’s body style and design is very streamlined and sleek with elegant curves and sharp lines. It offers a classy look that is very eye catching because of its high end workmanship. The R1200R artfully combines the compact design of a roadster with the practicality of a touring bike. BMW is has created a bike that uses features and options that are proven on the race track to increase speed, torque, handling and comfort.
The 1200cc flat twin generates an impressive 110 horsepower and 88lb-ft of torque, giving the ride all the power needed while traversing erratic mountain roads or simply cruise the town’s streets. This is further ensured with an air and oil cooling system that maintains low engine temperatures during all riding conditions. The six-speed, manual transmission shifts gears at low and high revolutions per minute (rpm) to ensure all power is delivered to the wheel. The suspension uses a fully adjustable front telescopic fork and rear single swing arm to offer supreme cornering and comfort that makes its 491 pounds of weight nearly unnoticeable. The bike is equipped with dual hydraulic caliper with 12.6 inch discs in the front and a single hydraulic caliper with a 10.4 inch disc in the rear to bring the bike to a stop at all speeds and distances.
There are other small and typically disregarded features that make this bike even easier to ride. There is an adjustable handbrake and clutch lever letting you adjust the bike to fit you rather than you having to contort your body to fit the bike.
